Ribhi Tawil was born and raised in Jerusalem in 1947. He completed his studies at Al-Omariya School in the old city, and later moved to Lebanon and studied Decorative Arts and Paintings. Not long after, he opened the first Sportex branch in Beirut. In 1966, Tawil decided to return to Jerusalem and devoted himself to printing and scouting equipment. In 1978, Al-Taweel started his scuba center in Sina, the Egyptian desert.

Sportex was initially known in the ‘60s as “The Flag Workshop and Printing Press,” it was the exclusive printing press of Jerusalem, specializing in silk printing and scouting equipment. Customers from all around the Arab Nation like the Jordanian Hashemite Kingdom, Lebanon, and some European countries; Cyprus and Greece, used to do business with us. Later in time, Sportex Group witnessed a grand success and a notable expansion into multiple fields of business, after that, Mr. Mus’ab Al-Taweel joined in with his father’s business seeking expansion and development, to lead and pioneer all fields of business and to attain distinction and excellence in their line of work.
